King of Prussia, Pa. (June 22, 2009) - The Philadelphia Freedoms are pleased to announce the addition of an eighth home match to their 2009 schedule. A preseason match will be played June 30 at the newly expanded Freedoms Stadium at the King of Prussia Mall.
The match will be headlined by Freedoms player Nathan Healey and feature local standout players playing under the World TeamTennis format. Gates open at 6 PM and the match begins at 7:30 PM. The match is free and open to the public.
Prior to the match, the Freedoms are excited to team up with Lilly Pulitzer in the King of Prussia Plaza for a Shop & Share event from 5 to 8 PM. This special event is open to the public. 10% of all proceeds from "Shop & Share" will benefit Abington Hospital, host sponsor and the official charity of the Philadelphia Freedoms.
The 2009 Philadelphia Freedoms season will feature the greatest lineup of tennis stars ever seen in Philadelphia. Venus Williams and Andre Agassi will play one home match each for the Freedoms. Visiting players include Serena Williams, John McEnroe, Anna Kournikova, Martina Navratilova, and Kim Clijsters.
The Freedoms will play seven home matches in the 3,000-seat Freedoms Stadium at the King of Prussia Mall. All events will feature world-class tennis in an innovative, fast-paced World TeamTennis format. Each evening will include exciting Block Parties produced by Comcast Spectacor that will feature USTA Quickstart Tennis, live music, inflatables, mascots, kids games, prizes, food, and much more.
